Gulf Coast Humane Society (GCHS) Veterinary Clinic has an exciting opportunity for enthusiastic and energetic veterinarians to join our dedicated team. As we prepare to break ground on our brand-new, state-of-the-art 10,000-square-foot clinic, we’re expanding our capacity to provide affordable, full-service care to pets across Southwest Florida. We are a fast-paced, high-volume clinic that offers services designed to meet the needs of our diverse clients in today’s economy. Located in Fort Myers, Florida, we are seeking a motivated individual to help us serve pets in need.
Position Type:
- Full-time (40, 32, or 30-hour options), Part-time, and Per Diem options available.

Position Overview:
As a Veterinarian in our wellness clinic, you will be responsible for providing wellness/preventive care for owned dogs and cats. This role may also involve performing minor surgeries and addressing other medical needs that arise in the clinic. You will provide services including examinations, diagnostics, treatments, and basic dentistry, focusing on conditions that can be addressed with reasonable resources and have a high likelihood of a positive outcome
Your Responsibilities:
- Provide wellness and preventive care services including vaccinations, treatment of minor injuries, and examinations with digital x-rays.
- Perform surgeries as needed, including but not limited to dentistry and soft tissue procedures.
- Provide physical examinations, recommend diagnostics, and develop treatment plans.
- Collaborate with the Medical Director and Practice Manager to develop and review clinic protocols and procedures.
- Work in conjunction with relief veterinarians to ensure seamless clinic operations.
- Ensure high-quality care while minimizing patient stress and discomfort.
- Provide compassionate, patient-focused customer service.
- Oversee humane euthanasia when required.
- Serve as an ambassador for GCHS, maintaining positive relationships with clients and the veterinary community.
Requirements:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited veterinary school.
- Valid State of Florida Veterinary License.
- Ability to handle complex and/or emotional situations with a diverse clientele.
- Ability to efficiently balance wellness, medicine, and surgery services.
- Commitment to animal welfare and the mission of GCHS as a nonprofit organization.
