ICU Float Pool Nurse

Shift: Full-time Nights 7P-7A
Our client is a 700+ bed healthcare facility known for being the region's only Level II trauma center, as well as being home to the only children's hospital in the western portion of the state. The hospital offers a variety of services, including women's services, sports medicine, and neurological care. The quality of the facility's services has earned recognition, such as being named among the nation's best hospitals by U.S. News & World Report, Truven Health Analytics, and Healthgrades.
The critical care float pool serves all adult ICU areas, which consist of Medical-Surgical ICU (24 beds), Neuro-Trauma ICU (20 beds), Cardiac ICU (16 beds), Cardiovascular ICU (19 beds), and a mixed Overflow ICU (12 beds). They also float to 6 progressive care units covering Medical Cardiology Step Down, Medical Cardiology Surgical Step Down, Cardiovascular Progressive Care, Pulmonary Medical Progressive Care, Intermediate Care Unit, and Chest Pain Observation Unit.
Role Summary:
Provides leadership which facilitates the delivery of professional nursing care for the comfort and well-being of patients. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide, delegate, supervise, and document care and teaching of patients and family. Implements medically prescribed interventions.
Qualifications:
Required Education:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Effective 3/1/18 Bachelor of Science in Nursing OR enroll in a BSN or advanced degree program within 6 months AND obtain a BSN within 4 years of hire date into RN position.
Preferred Education:
- Masters in Nursing.
Required License or Certifications:
- Must have and maintain current licensure as registered nurse with the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
- ENLC (Enhanced Nurse License Compact) license may apply; licensee should confirm with NCBON.
Certifications:
- BLS Healthcare Provider.
- National Certification in area of specialty.
Required Experience:
- One-year hospital nursing experience.
Preferred Experience:
- 2+ years in large ICU setting in trauma center.
