Radiation Therapist Schedule
Monday - Friday 7am - 3:30pm
Occasional 8am - 4:30pm rotation
No weekends or holidays!
Radiation Therapist Job Summary
The Radiation Therapist will assist with the daily patient flow of the Radiation Oncology clinical location, evaluate/develop new processes for patient care, and assist with other activities to improve Radiation Oncology operations. According to established procedures, assists physicians by treating patients with prescribed doses of ionizing radiation supplied and controlled through specialized radiation equipment. In doing so, prepares treatment room, explains procedures to patients, positions patients, and administers treatments. Monitors patients during therapy sessions to ensure comfort and observe changes in patients' condition. Simulates patient treatment according to the treatment plan and delivers prescribed doses of ionizing radiation. Designs and constructs custom treatment devices for individual patients.
Radiation Therapist Qualifications
- Must hold an Associate's Degree in Radiologic Sciences or related field.
- Current Radiation Therapy license issued by IEMA Department of Nuclear Safety and registry or registry eligible with ARRT within 6 months of hire.
- BLS/CPR certification through the AHA.
