As a Nurse Occupational, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive healthcare services to employees at the Argo plant. This role involves managing leaves of absence, coordinating medical exams, promoting employee wellness, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. The Occupational Nurse will work closely with the Safety and HR departments to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
Your role will be:
- Leaves of Absence Management:
- Process and track leaves of absence (LOA) requests, including STD, FMLA, WC, and LTD.
- Coordinate with managers, payroll, and HR to ensure timely communication and compliance.
- Follow up with employees as needed to provide updates and support.
- Medical Services:
- Manages respiratory fit test, industrial hygiene testing, flu vaccines.
- Conducts hearing tests, ear plug fit tests, and health fairs.
- Monitor work injuries and coordinate care with healthcare providers.
- Administer first aid and manage on-site medical emergencies.
- Wellness Programs:
- Develop and implement employee wellness programs, such as health screenings, fitness challenges, and health education initiatives.
- Track employee health data and provide insights to promote a healthy workforce.
- Safety Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
- Conduct safety training and education sessions.
- Investigate workplace accidents and injuries.
- Participate in safety audits and reviews.
- Administrative Tasks:
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation.
- Prepare and submit required reports and statistics.
- Coordinate with external medical providers and insurance companies.
- Additional Responsibilities:
- Daily: Check for NYL updates, send information to relevant parties, assist employees with medical questions, maintain logs, and approve Esker billing.
- Monthly: Prepare corporate safety reports, order supplies, distribute wellness newsletters, and submit expense reports.
- Quarterly: Review workers' compensation claims.
- Twice yearly: Conduct CPR/AED training.
Your profile needs these qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
- Current RN licensure in the state of Illinois.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in occupational health nursing or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of workers' compensation, FMLA, STD, and LTD regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Training and education: Experience in conducting safety training and health education sessions.

- Technical skills: Proficiency in using electronic medical records, scheduling software, and other relevant technology.

Pay Range: $78,700.00-$104,966.67 Annual
This pay range is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Final base salary will be determined based on several factors which may include but are not limited to responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data and applicable bargaining agreement (if any).
Incentive Compensation: As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Ingredion Annual Incentive Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus.
