Northwest Eye Surgeons is a progressive ophthalmic medical and surgical practice, and we are searching for a full-time MA or Surgical Technologist for our Mount Vernon ASC location. Responsibilities:
- Process and sterilize instruments to the highest standards.
- Assist and handle the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure.
- Gain an understanding of the procedures being performed and anticipate the needs of the surgeon.
- Ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and function cooperatively with physicians and staff exhibiting teamwork characteristics.
- Maintain the highest standard of sterile technique and vigilance of the sterile field during the surgical procedure.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Windows or G-Suite.
- Effectively work in a team environment.
- Demonstrated multitasking.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
- Knowledge of sterile technique as it is applied to the operating room.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrate excellence in communication skills and ability to convey ideas and information, verbally and in writing.
- Strong organization and attention to detail.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- One (1) year experience as an ophthalmic assistant preferred.
- Current CPR/AED is mandatory (ACLS is preferred). Certification course will be provided during orientation.
