Job Objective: A brief overview of the position.
The Radiologic Technologist works under the supervision of the Director and Staff Radiologist; performs a variety of radiology procedures utilizing all aspects of the equipment.
- Reports to: Director-Radiology Services
- Ages of Patients: Neonate/Infant, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, Geriatric
Qualifications
Education:
Required: Graduate of a Radiologic Technology Training Program approved by the American Medical Association or equivalent training.
Licensure/Certification:
Required: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification; California Radiologic Technologist (CRT) license with fluoroscopy permit; must obtain fluoroscopy permit within six (6) months of hire if graduated before January 1, 2011, from Diagnostic Radiology Technology program with CRT license; American Heart Association BLS.

Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.
Obtain all pertinent medical information from patient to identify age-specific needs.
Performs Radiographic procedures of high technical quality.
Utilizes proper radiation protection to protect patient from excessive radiation.
Efficient in use of all equipment reporting all deficiencies to immediate supervisor.
Stocks x-ray rooms between exams and at end of shift.
Performs appropriate diagnostic procedures as ordered and assists Radiologist performing procedure.
Takes on additional procedures during periods of heavy workload.
Documents any changes in patient condition using appropriate forms.
Obtains appropriate medical history before patient examination and prepares patient for exam.
Performs receptionist and Radiology Assistant duties as needed.
Produces radiographs and practices isolation techniques per policy and procedures.
Follows ALARA guideline and uses Universal Precautions in all situations.
