To prospective teammates,
I’m the regional medical director for Sound’s hospital medicine practice at MultiCare Allenmore Hospital in Tacoma, Washington, and the NorthStar Region. I have been a part of Sound for five years. I proudly welcome interest from physicians and advanced practice providers coming out of training or desiring a career change. I’d like to share more about it, specifically about our people, practice, and purpose, as you consider options.
People
- We are a closely-knit, established team of eight physicians and four APPs, with the support of a clinical performance nurse.
- Our group of physicians and APPs is diverse, with various training and experience backgrounds.
- Team members are expected to actively participate in committees, engage with hospital activities, and contribute to the goals of Sound Physicians.
- We enjoy gathering within the facility and occasionally outside the hospital for various activities.
Practice
- We welcome the challenge of complex cases, working in an open ICU with 24/7 intensivist critical care coverage for backup and daily rounding during the day and available by phone at night (our team is not expected to do procedures). We do respond to codes and rapid response.
- Our team hosts monthly gatherings, informative lunch and learn sessions, and celebratory occasions to foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Most of us like to spend time with our families or outdoors, so a flexible schedule is available, and we cover for each other when we’re out.
- The expected yearly compensation is $150k – $161k.
- Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, and AD&D insurance, long- and short-term disability, 401k with match, paid medical malpractice and tail coverage, and annual CME allowance.
Purpose
- We put patients first. Always.
- A focus on growth and development is a key feature of Sound’s practices, where teammates can expand their careers locally and within the broader medical group.
- We’re a community-minded team and encourage our team members who want to contribute in and out of the hospital to help make our local community thrive.
