Job Summary:
Senior EROC Operations Team Leader/RN has overall accountability for the quality of patient care, the monitoring of performance of the nursing staff. Oversees and directs orientation, clinical education, and development of the staff in order to establish the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to telehealth services.
They are responsible for the development and supervision of telehealth nursing staff, the practice of tele-nursing according to the rules and regulations defined by the state's Nurse Practice Act, Erlanger's Models of Care/Practice, policies and procedures.
They will evaluate clinical nursing staff's performance and provides feedback as appropriate. Foster critical thinking and self-direction in staff by guiding them through the steps of problems solving which results in staff's ability to independently and consistently manage similar situations in the future. Senior Team leader/RN will systematically evaluate and improve the quality and effectiveness of nursing care delivery in Care Coordination and Telehealth as evidenced by positive outcomes. They will ensure the delivery of a current and comprehensive nursing orientation program for new nursing staff within Care Coordination and Telehealth and documents the orientation. They would be responsible for participation in and completion of all patient safety initiatives appropriate to the position. The individual must have knowledge and be able provide patient care via telehealth as needed. Senior Operations Team Leader/RN is also responsible for leading and directing daily-shift operations to ensure optimal operational flow, teamwork and utilization of resources to meet patient-care needs.
Education:
Required: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. BSN Degree
Preferred: Master's degree in healthcare related field
Experience:
Required:
Three years of continuous nursing experience. Experience must reflect general knowledge in hospital/pre-hospital medicine principles and practice skills, current trends and new developments.
One year of critical-care experience.
Strong communication, leadership, team building, project-management and organization skills
Strong problem-solving, analytical and decision-making skill with ability to conceptualize solutions to challenging situations and implement practical plans.
Preferred:
Three years progressive leadership experience
Telehealth experience
EPIC experience
Advanced understanding of patient-flow and capacity management concepts
Working knowledge of Joint Commission, DNV and regulations relating to EMTALA
Position Requirement(s): License/Certification/Registration
Required: Current license to practice nursing in the state of Tennessee. BLS completed prior to going to the unit/department and to be maintained going forward. ACLS within 6 months.
The Nurse Licensure Compact will not change how to obtain or renew a Tennessee license. However, the Tennessee nursing license will be a single state license for Tennessee Residents or non-compact state residents. Tennessee licensure or multistate licensure from a compact state must be obtained within three months of hire for non-Tennessee residents.
Department Position Summary:
Serves as a member of the Telehealth and EROC Patient Care Services team by administering the operations of a specified division of services as assigned by Senior Management. Further serves as a conduit for the implementation and maintenance of guidelines and visions of Executive Management to ensure quality and customer satisfaction within assigned areas of EHS. Assumes administrative duties as directed.
Directs and coordinates the functions for telehealth clinical care to hospitals contracted for such services to include but not limited to Erlanger Bledsoe, Erlanger Sequatchie, Erlanger North and Erlanger East. Responsible for a continuously improving quality level of patient care service within the Erlanger Health System and to customers within the region. The role may also include direct, indirect patient care via telehealth services.
Senior EROC Team Leader/RN will also ensure optimal operational flow, teamwork and utilization of resources to meet patient-care needs. The Senior EROC Operations Team will assist EROC Leadership with the following; program design, development, and implementation, project development and management, team member training and mentoring, policy/procedure development and implementation, workflow planning and prioritization, Patient Flow and Capacity Management, interviewing hiring and retention, customer needs assessment, process and quality improvement.
Must possess communication skills (written and verbal), leadership abilities that promote growth and development of employees, problem-solving and decision-making skills, and the ability to interact appropriately and effectively with personnel at all levels of the organization.
