JOB PURPOSE:
The role of the Hydronics Project Lead is to lead field techs through the construction process on hydronics jobs. This entails leading by example by working efficiently through the build-up of hydronic systems, setting goals and benchmarks for productivity, holding the crew accountable, assisting crew in interpreting plans, and ensuring that the necessary material and equipment is available on site.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Hydronic Project Leads will work closely with the Hydronic Department Manager to order material, give feedback on job progress, provide input on project schedule, and relay information on changes/difficulties encountered throughout the build. In addition to communicating with the Department Manager, Hydronic Project Leads are expected to coordinate with Site Supervisors and other trades as necessary.
Specific Job Duties:
- Coordinate and assist with the installation of hydronic and geothermal systems from underground through trim out.
- Manage field tech’s tasks.
- Coordinate with other trades for installation timeline.
- Coordinate submittals, RFI’s, etc. with project engineers.
- Order equipment and materials needed for the project(s) in coordination with DM and Purchasing Agent.
- Participate in project kickoff meetings.
- Establish regular email/phone communication and coordination with DM.
- Establish regular on-site communication with GC and other trades.
- Read & comprehend project plan sets.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

- 3 or more years’ of radiant install or related experience.
- Must have tools of the trade.
- Must be organized and dependable.
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: talk and hear others both physically present and on the telephone; sit and stand; move, use hands to operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and move objects up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and move objects over 50 pounds.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- The physical environment requires the employee to typically work outside or in cold weather. This position will require travel to multiple E1 sites on a daily basis as the need arises. The Hydronics Project Lead will begin their day directly at the job site.
- This position is located in Bozeman MT, with responsibilities for additional locations.
