The Addiction Medicine Nurse assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care based on age-specific components; using biopsychosocial concepts, cognitive skills, and technical competence. Responsible for coordination of care, focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction through continuum of care. Administers medications per established policies and guidelines. Influences care outcomes by collaborating with the interdisciplinary team.
Basic Requirements:
- English Language Proficiency.
- Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate accrediting agency.
- Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the United States, or the District of Columbia.
Physical Requirements:
Involves considerable standing, walking, stooping, bending, reaching, lifting, and turning. Requires carrying or lifting objects weighing up to 50 lbs., and may require work that involves pushing or lifting more than 50 pounds.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates integration of biopsychosocial concepts, cognitive skills, and technically competent practice while providing care to clients.
- Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care based on age-specific components.
- Coordinates care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care.
- Administers medications and procedures per established policies and guidelines.
- Collaborates with members of the interdisciplinary team to influence care outcomes.
Pay: Competitive salary, regular salary increases, potential for performance awards.
Paid Time Off: 50 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays).
Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% contributions by VA.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm.
