Beacon Solutions Group is currently seeking an MDS Nurse Specialist. This position involves implementation of tasks on developed client workplans and management of ongoing client relations to meet client needs. This person will act as a subject matter expert on long term care clinical operations in relation to MDS completion and scheduling, clinical auditing, and provide ongoing support and solutions to client base dependent on need.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage MDS activities as assigned.
- Participate in the development of policies and procedures.
- Provide client education.
- Manage MDS audit activities as assigned.
- Participate in CMI developed activities.
- Provide documentation as outlined per policy by client site.
- Maintain IMS databases as instructed.
- Keep abreast of industry developments in regards to compliance and regulatory standards.
- Keep abreast of payer constraints and Medicare/Medicaid SNF billing requirements.
- Participate in QM activities as assigned.
- Participate in QIS and traditional mock survey teams.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the Director of Clinical Operations.
Qualifications:
Required Skills: NYS RN or LPN licensure, minimum of 2 years operational experience in long term care clinical setting preferred. Minimum 2 years MDS experience desired; training will be provided. Must comply with all compliance, security, privacy and HIPAA rules and regulations.
Desired Skills: Active ANNAC, RAC, CT.
Educational Requirements: A minimum of an Associate's Degree or equivalent NYS Nursing licensure.
Travel Requirements: Must be willing to travel within New York. Daily travel up to 50% but varies greatly. Overnight travel occasionally required. Reliable transportation is a must.
The salary for this position is up to $68,000 based on education, experience, and licensure. Discretionary bonus and salary increase annually based on job performance.
Hours of Operation:
Our office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Summer hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 8:00 a.m. to noon on Friday, based on Beacon Solutions client needs and project manager approval. We pride ourselves on our flexibility; however, the ability to work additional hours will be needed at peak times.
