Job Summary
Reporting to the Sr. Regional Vice President, the VP Network Engineering is responsible for providing direction on the engineering and technical aspects of network engineering for the Region. This VP will lead a team of 350 employees which includes 2 directors, 5 managers and 20 supervisors. The leader drives change transformation and strategy execution to achieve specific business results. Creates business strategy to focus on strengths, competitive advantage, and differentiation. Incorporates broad knowledge to address complex, unusual and critical issues. Develops long-term plans that impact the achievement of business results. Recognizes profitability and revenue potential in business opportunities. Demonstrates leadership versatility.
Job Description
Core Responsibilities:
- Responsible for providing direction on the engineering and technical aspects of network engineering; provides direction on testing and turn-up of new products and all product launches over the network.
- Provides direction on architectures, and reviews network construction and upgrades.
- Evaluates new techniques and approves technical expenditures.
- Drives change transformation and strategy execution to achieve specific business results.
- Creates business strategy to focus on strengths, competitive advantage and differentiation.
- Incorporates broad knowledge to address complex, unusual and critical issues.
- Develops long-term plans that impact the achievement of business results.
- Recognizes profitability and revenue potential in business opportunities.
- Develops strategies to improve customer perception.
- Assures Regional compliance with Company policy and procedures.
- Provides support and direction for the maintenance of high-level networks.
- Provides guidance around maintenance programs to support all products on the systems.
- Responsible for leading large, complex, and diverse teams with direct reports; develops team-members through inspirational leadership driving team motivation and engagement; provides appropriate direction in proactive issues management as well as career development opportunities and support.
- Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
- Practices regular, consistent, and punctual attendance; must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.

Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
- 10 Years of experience in Technical, Field, Engineering Operations, or related area.
Education
Bachelor's Degree
While possessing the stated degree is preferred, Comcast also may consider applicants who hold some combination of coursework and experience, or who have extensive related professional experience.
