Pharmacists are crucial partners in the care team of every patient at Cedars-Sinai. Our patients have many different needs, from pain management after surgery to coordinating 35 different drugs to prevent organ rejection after transplantation, to just getting the right prescription after a routine check-up. Our pharmacists are key members of the expert team of physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals who make Cedars-Sinai known around the world. The Pharmacy Department consists of more than 500 staff members providing industry-leading, evidence-based medicine.
The Pharmacy Manager oversees the Clinical and Operational Medication Management needs of all Operating Rooms, Procedural Areas, Preop, and PACU areas within Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, including 53 general operating rooms, 12 Cath Lab suites, 8 GI Lab suites, Bronchoscopy procedural area, Echocardiography, Apheresis, Dialysis, Pulmonary Function Lab, Labor & Delivery, Minimally Invasive Urology, as well as six Preop and six PACU units. The Manager will also oversee medication use in the Comprehensive Transplant Center, Breast Center, and other select outpatient areas. In total, these areas house 74 Pyxis MedStations and 89 Pyxis Anesthesia Workstations. The Manager is responsible for personnel management and workflow of 6 Pharmacist FTEs and 11 Pharmacy Technician FTEs that staff in the OR/Procedural areas. The Manager serves as the primary liaison to Nursing and Physician leadership of these areas, alongside the Associate Director, working as a project manager and optimizing services, safety, and regulatory compliance of medication usage.
Qualifications
Education:- Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy or related equivalent. Prefer PharmD.
- Completion of PGY1 and/or PGY2 residency or equivalent practice experience preferred.
License/Certifications:- California Pharmacist License upon hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire.

Physical Demands:- Frequent sitting, walking, bending, reaching; occasional pushing, pulling, lifting of materials up to 50 pounds.
- Responsiveness to auditory alarms and communication devices including telephones, pagers, fire alarms, and mechanical failure alarms.
- Sufficient mobility to access equipment, patients, and other customers.
- Able to read information on medication labels.
