For this excellent career opportunity in transit technology, we seek an experienced Project Manager with strong schedule and cost control skills, and an aptitude for organizational leadership. The Regional Manager of Projects is a very visible role which:
- Will manage the company's largest regional project (awarded, not yet launched) and play a key role in growing the project portfolio in the Midwest US.
- Will hire, mentor and develop personnel on the project team(s).
- Will provide a superior experience to the customer(s), by managing key relationships, SLAs, quarterly assessments, and service strategies.
- Will work cooperatively with the Sales organization to help develop additional opportunities to grow the region, and therefore your purview.
The selected individual will have a strong technical background (education or experience in engineering, computer science, or similar field) with a strong business sense including an emphasis on financial KPIs. This role is the operational cornerstone of a growing Midwest division, and as such presents significant opportunity for professional growth in a firm that has a very strong reputation for developing talent from within by providing excellent training, mentorship and professional stretch. We will prioritize formal project management training, so please be sure to let us know about your qualifications in this area. Additional requirements include:
- Experience managing projects of $10M USD value or higher (including equipment, services, subcontractors, vendors, etc).
- An understanding of the vendor-client relationship, perhaps by having been on both sides.
This position requires 50% time on site with the customer in Chicago. Lump sum relocation is available, but there is not a commuting allowance.
Additional valued experience includes knowledge of the transportation technology, fare collection or revenue systems markets such as parking, tolling, ticketing or payments. Hardware/equipment manufacturing experience in these same fields is also a benefit.
