Under the direction of a technical supervisor, the ARRT certified, California-licensed technologist performs radiologic procedures in assigned areas at a safe and technical level not requiring constant supervision. The technologist will perform safe imaging procedures on all emergent, inpatient, and outpatient age-specific populations. Diagnostic procedures include, but are not limited to, basic radiographic exams using fixed and portable imaging equipment in various settings such as Outpatient/Inpatient, OR/Hybrid, ER, fluoro, and Endoscopy.
This position will cover graveyard, weekend, evenings, and vacation coverage at our SF Mission Bay site. The individual must be available in the am to pm for trainings. A desire to work in Pediatrics and in OR is preferred.
Responsibilities include:
- Performing various radiographic exams and processing images on various archival systems.
- Being professionally accountable for submitting high-quality images to PACS.
- Participating in performance improvement activities in the department.
- Demonstrating excellent customer service to patients.
- Correctly identifying patients for the procedures performed and their respective images.
- Following Infection Control policies, radiation policies, and good body mechanics.
- Maintaining appropriate continuing education credits.
- Complying with all Medical Center and Department policies and procedures.
Minimum requirements include:
- Requires ARRT, CRT, and California fluoroscopy license.
- New hires must not perform any radiology procedures until they receive their license (CRT) from the State of California.
- New hires may begin their orientation to the department, observe procedures, and assist during this time period, which is not to exceed 6 months.
- New hires must receive their California fluoroscopy license within the first 6 months of employment or probationary period.
- Depending on the department needs, this position may require you to take weekday, weekend, or holiday call.
- Per diem employees must work at least an average of three shifts per month to maintain equipment and procedure competencies and per diem eligibility.
