We are seeking a seasoned professional operations manager with a hands-on approach to oversee all aspects of the Hauling operations. Pay 200-325K based on experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the business unit and organizing the daily activities which include: maintaining efficient and safe operational procedures and practices, implementing processes to achieve financial and productivity goals, and assuring excellent customer service and quick resolution of related problems.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the site.
- Manage fleet of refuse collection residential, commercial, and roll-off vehicles.
- Responsible for facility operating budget to include fleet equipment utilization, fleet maintenance, liability, labor, and material costs.
- Develop short-term and long-term goals and action plans for collection operations, fleet maintenance, customer services, employee relations, and sales.
- Establish and maintain performance and productivity metrics and cost management processes.
- Oversee site management staff (drivers, sales, customer service, fleet maintenance, and operations).
- Responsible for maintaining employee relations and oversees personnel needs of a highly diverse staff including employee selection, discipline, and training.
- Ensure and enforce compliance with company, DOT/OSHA, and other federal, local health and safety standards and regulations to include management of an effective loss control and safety program.
- Interact with customers and local city, municipal, and county agencies to ensure complete customer satisfaction.
- Provide input to senior management to improve overall operations and productivity.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
- 7 - 10 years of related experience.
- 5 plus years overseeing a large-scale operations facility in the recycling, hauling, waste collection, or transportation industry preferred.
- Must have highly developed leadership, organization, and people skills.
- Must have excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- Bilingual English and Spanish is a plus.
- Must be a results-oriented leader with the ability to handle multiple tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be professional and willing to work in a highly diversified workplace.
- Valid California driver's license.
