We are looking for a Senior FP&A Analyst to join our accounting team and help us continue to grow and innovate.
As part of IXL's Finance, Planning, and Analysis team, you will work on strategic and financial projects that combine analytical rigor with the need to build and maintain strong relationships. This position will support IXL's success by helping to scale and improve our corporate finance functions, drive financial planning processes, and work with various business partners to provide data-driven insights that inform strategic, financial, and operational decision-making across the company. This is a full-time position in our San Mateo, CA headquarters office.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Develop and maintain financial forecasts for the business and track key variances, changes and opportunities in actual results vs. budgets and forecasts.
- Delivery of monthly financial reporting that includes analysis, key operating metrics, and explanations of variances and trends; surface actionable insights across different subsidiaries.
- Identify trends across the education landscape, by performing competitive/industry analyses.
- Assist in developing and implementing key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of IXL subscription products and marketplace products.
- Develop insightful business reviews in partnership with relevant business partners.
- Partner with legal and operational teams to manage third-party relationships and assist with the evaluation, negotiation, and execution of contracts.
- Assist in financial due diligence on potential acquisition targets and help prepare financial models to evaluate the potential financial impact of M&A transactions.
- Complete ad-hoc business projects and analysis that drive decision-making and capital allocation.
- Support the sales team with strategic and operational compensation guidance.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- BA/BS degree in accounting, finance, business, economics or a related field.
- 3-5+ years of relevant experience, investment banking, private equity, venture capital, corporate development or corporate finance preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in financial modeling, and financial statement analysis.
- Ability to effectively build and maintain relationships with internal and external partners, manage multiple competing priorities, and drive projects to completion.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to clearly articulate ideas and drive cross-functional understanding and cooperation across the business.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and G Suite.
Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The base salary range for this full-time position is $120,000 to $150,000 + benefits. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
