Walgreens Store Manager - Waltham, Massachusetts
Manages the operation of a Walgreens store, improving store sales, profitability, and image through proper merchandising, protection of store assets, the selection, training, and development of team members, and modeling and delivering a distinctive and delightful customer and patient experience.
Job Responsibilities/Tasks
Customer Experience
- Monitors and analyzes the customer service provided by team members.
- Greets customers and clinic patients, offering assistance with products and services.
- Models and shares customer service best practices.
- Resolves customer complaints and helps respond to customers’ special needs.
Operations
- Supervises operation of the store and pharmacy.
- Controls store money and oversees all aspects of bookkeeping.
- Supervises merchandising and inventory management.
- Ensures execution of District Manager operational feedback.
- Manages compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Ensures staff has working knowledge of all computer and technology systems.
- Complies with all company policies and procedures.
Daily Planning and Execution
- Assigns daily operational responsibilities and tasks.
Business Performance Management
- Analyzes financial and performance data; develops action plans.
- Reviews KPIs daily and prepares to discuss with district management.
- Analyzes pharmacy performance indicators.
Business Planning
- Identifies sales opportunities for growth.
- Manages inventory levels.
People and Performance Management
- Manages team member performance and career progression.
- Monitors training programs for team members.
- Makes hiring, promotion, and termination decisions.
- Promotes teamwork and motivates team members.
Training and Personal Development
- Participates in company training to improve skills.
- Obtains pharmacy technician registration/licensure as required.
Communications
- Serves as liaison between district, corporate, and the store.
- Conducts community outreach.

External Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and 3 years retail management experience or High School Diploma/GED and 5 years of retail management experience.
- Licensed pharmacy technician as required by state OR pharmacy assistant in WA state OR licensed Rph as soon as possible.
- Willingness to work flexible schedule including extended days, evenings, and weekend hours.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- PTCB or ExCPT Certification.
- Three years retail management experience.
