Job Description: Under the broad direction of the Region President, manages the business, technical and client relations activities of the project. Responsibilities include profit and loss, accounting, budgeting, and oversight of the project. Leads strategic planning, proposal coordination, contract development and client relations.
Responsibilities include:
- Communicates company mission, values, behaviors and goals to teams.
- Develops area and departmental strategies and marketing plans that complement company goals and drives team to achieve committed performance results.
- Collaborates with peers to best utilize facilities and available resources.
- Monitors projects financial performance including compliance to budget, personnel utilization, pricing, customer invoicing and collections.
- Identifies opportunities for improvement and counsels team when corrections or improvements are needed.
- Prepares monthly reports in a timely manner.
- Leads preparation of annual budget for LLC review.
- Provides management tools to ensure that project meets or exceeds plan controls or reports monthly budget variances.
- A complete understanding of the agreement is necessary to ensure that all contractual deliverables are met. Reviews documents for satisfactory content, arranges for on-time submittal to client.
- Notifies responsible parties of required plans, reports and updates; reviews content against requirements, assists in the organization and format, takes receipt and performs the actual submittal to the client.
- Solicits customer and staff input to gain an intimate understanding of customer needs, problems and systems in order to provide a complete solution, improve levels of satisfaction, identify need for and implement corrective actions and to evaluate and develop new business opportunities.
- Continually reviews and monitors the financial results of the business operations and recommends corrective actions when appropriate.
- Leads staff in the development of annual strategic plan for the project including the creation of both expense and capital budgets.
- Continually analyzes the business and makes financial projections to Region President. Leads staff in reviews of potential new business for growth opportunities.
- Actively participates in public forums to support Veolia Water goals and to enhance community education.
- Collaborates with Business Development personnel in preparing proposals.
- Identifies in conjunction with Training Department staff and HR, training needs and coordinates execution of training programs.
- Monitors employee performance appraisal program in conjunction with HR to assure performance evaluations and goals are completed in a timely and meaningful manner.
Qualifications: Must have a four-year college or university degree in a related field; master’s degree in a related technical or business field desirable. Minimum of ten years of experience in the management of utility systems, showing progressive steps of increased responsibility. Must have at least ten years of supervisory experience.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
- Ability to plan and organize and directly control the utilization of scarce resources.
- Possess a thorough knowledge of the operation, maintenance, and process control of water/wastewater treatment facilities.
- Capable of overseeing and ensuring the proper management of multiple priorities.
- Must be reliable, thorough, and dependable with the ability to work both independently and as a leader of a team.
- Ability to interface effectively with clients including preparing and presenting information at public forums including but not limited to clients governing boards.
- Must present a neat, courteous, and professional appearance and attitude at all times.
