Lower School Principal: K-5th Grade
We are seeking a Lower School Principal who is a committed and passionate Christian leader with enthusiasm for biblically integrated academic excellence. He or she will understand and support the school’s mission, vision and strategy and demonstrates the ability to translate them into actionable goals for the Lower School. The Principal will be responsible for the safety and well-being of students, for assuring excellence in academic and curricular programs, for curriculum development and supervision, for faculty evaluation and professional development, for planning and administering the Lower School budget, and for cultivating positive and mutually beneficial relationships with the school community, students, parents, faculty, and staff under the direction of the Head of School and in accordance with the policies and mission of the school as set forth by the Board of Trustees.
What You Bring:
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field; Master’s degree, preferred.
- A minimum of three years of experience as a school principal or in a similar professional leadership role.
- A minimum of five years classroom experience demonstrating potential for effective leadership.
- Working knowledge of classroom management, best practices, and strategies, as well as the understanding of diverse student learning styles and needs.
- Strong team building skills and capacity to bring a school together as a community with spirit and commitment to biblically integrated high academic standards.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both oral and written; demonstrated abilities in problem solving and conflict resolution with emotional maturity in dealing with challenges.
- Strong organizational and management skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- A deep commitment to Christian education with a culture of servant-leadership.
Personal Characteristics & Spiritual Qualities
- Is a committed follower of Jesus Christ and seeks to live as His disciple demonstrating a desire for spiritual growth in all aspects of his/her life.
- Must be an active member in good standing and faithful participant of a local, Bible-believing church.
- Be a role model in speech, actions, and attitudes (both on and off campus) and model a consistent daily walk with Christ.
- Resolve conflict biblically with parents, students, staff, administration, and Board.
- Be available for prayer and counseling as needed by parents, teachers, and students.
- Be involved with the devotional and prayer time with the faculty.
- Pray for CHS regularly – the Board of Trustees, the staff, the families, the students, and the activities.
