Job Description:
This role will perform complex, specialized administrative tasks to ensure that department operations flow smoothly. The position will maintain billing information for accounts within the City’s stormwater utility, assist customers with billing information, and assist in administrative components of stormwater permitting. The position will also perform analysis of databases, basic accounting, and clerical duties for the Department.
Examples of Duties:
- Manages administrative functions for the Department.
- Manages the Work Management System for the Department including quality control on data entry for all staff, supporting/training employees in using the software, updating the asset database and staff records. Develops standard procedures and policies to this effect.
- Manages and administers procurement for the department to ensure adherence to city procedures.
- Manages inventory for both fixed asset and consumable field operations items.
- Represents the Department on the Tort Claim Committee and compiles findings reports.
- Manages the Department Work Request/Work Order System.
- Coordinates the human resources and payroll functions for the department, coordinating new hires and separations, assisting with leave/FMLA administration, and organizing payroll submission.
- Coordinates performance evaluation process for the department.
- Liaises with the Safety Division to ensure compliance and communication with all Department employees.
- Develops and monitors performance measures for annual report and review.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) and 2 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office or similar software.
- Valid South Carolina Driver’s License.

- May require evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
- In the event of major storms or other emergency situations, this position may be subject to 24-hour shifts or any other emergency schedule that is necessary to meet the City’s needs.
