Responsibilities
- Oversee health services staff
- Develop, guide, and execute Humana's medical and utilization review strategy
- Ensure proper services are being delivered to our members
- Represent Humana on state of Oklahoma governing bodies
- Represent Humana in various Oklahoma forums in which the Chief Medical Officer is required
- Consult with other physicians throughout the state of Oklahoma on medical cases
Required Qualifications
- MD or DO degree
- 5 or more years of established clinical experience, either in a hospital or clinic setting
- 8 or more years of direct leadership experience
- Current and unrestricted Oklahoma medical license and/or willing to obtain an Oklahoma medical license
- Excellent communication skills
- Analysis and interpretation skills with prior experience leading teams focusing on quality management or utilization management
- Passion for contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of the managed care industry including Medicare, Medicaid and/or Commercial product
- Medical management experience, working with health insurance organizations, hospitals and other healthcare providers, patient interaction, etc.
- Internal medicine, family practice, geriatrics, hospitalist, ER, PM&R, pediatrics, and/or clinical specialist experience
Additional Information
Incumbent must live in the state of Oklahoma and have the ability to work in the office whenever needed. Requires travel as business needs dictate.
