The Director, Product Management conceives of, develops, delivers, and manages products for customer use. The Director, Product Management requires an in-depth understanding of how organization capabilities interrelate across the function or segment.
The Director, Product Management leads all phases of the product life cycle, from inception to introduction into the marketplace, by developing products to meet specific customer needs and achieve specific cost and success outcomes. Once products are launched, this individual monitors the efficacy of products and uses customer and business partner feedback to ensure products are meeting customer needs across each customer segmentation, adjusting products over time to continue to achieve the desired outcomes. Decisions are typically related to the implementation of new/updated programs or large-scale projects for the function and supporting technical/operational procedures and processes, and implements strategic plans, drives goals and objectives, and improves performance. This individual provides input into functions strategy.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for:
- Development of staff (personal development, professional development, psychological safety)
- Long term strategic vision of the Product space
- Showing transparency between funded Product initiatives and future workload
- Ensuring collaboration across all product areas (Solution, Product, Data Governance, Data Management (UAT))
- Cultivating strategic partnerships between the Business and IT
- Managing architects for throughput, load balancing and collaboration
- Escalations unable to be resolved by the Associate Director of Product Management or Principal
- Oversee the product portfolio from ideation through delivery

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Minimum 5 years of Agile experience
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in either a product or project management role
- Minimum 7 years of leadership experience including building and leading empowered teams
- Experience managing both individual contributors and leader of leaders
- Proven experience overseeing all elements of the product development lifecycle from inception to execution to launch to scale
- Proven ability to bridge gap between technical and business acumen
- Experience managing in a matrix environment
- Ability to lead through ambiguity
- Possess accountability for own decisions
- Ability to leverage customer insights, feedback, financials, compliance, and risk data to define product features and roadmap in partnership with other Subject Matter Experts
- Ability to work Eastern Standard Time hours based on business need
- Strong analytic, organization and problem-solving skills enabling sound decision making
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills with an ability to prioritize, negotiate, and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
- Enthusiasm, positive bend, and self-motivation is essential; a confident change-agent
- Strong presentation skills both oral and written to executive levels of organization
Work-At-Home Requirements
- At minimum, a download speed of 25 mbps and an upload speed of 10 mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested
- Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership
- Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.
- Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.
- Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information

Pay Range
The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
$164,700 - $226,600 per year
This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
