The Radiation Oncology Department at Brigham and Women’s Hospital is one of the premier radiation treatment programs in the world. We service patients from Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Dana-Farber, and Dana-Farber/Boston Children’s Hospital.

What You Will Do
- Under the direction of the Chief and Lead Radiation Therapists, demonstrate essential skills of treatment modalities and protocols to accurately set-up and administer daily radiotherapy treatments.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, medical staff, and healthcare team.
- May be required to demonstrate basic knowledge and skills in one or more specialty areas and programs, including but not limited to:
- Varian Linacs, including Ethos
- Tattoo-less treatments using AlignRT, Brainlab, SBRT, SRS/SRT, HDR, TBI, IMRT, VMAT, and Pediatric Anesthesia cases
- Brachytherapy/HDR
- Other opportunities for growth & training include:
- MR Simulator
- RTT Contouring and Adaptive Planning
Essential Functions
- Promote the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
- Educate patients/families regarding procedures and/or treatments to be performed. Demonstrate professional behavior/conduct in all interactions.
- Foster teamwork, efficient use of resources, and quality patient outcomes.
- Operate treatment and treatment planning equipment in accordance with departmental policy. Prepare treatments and administer prescribed doses in accordance with established policies. Prepare and maintain accurate documentation.
- Understand the function of all equipment, accessories, treatment policies, procedures, and protocols and apply knowledge appropriately.
- Perform daily QA measures to ensure proficient operation of all imaging and treatment equipment.
- Position and immobilize patients according to the treatment plan and effectively evaluate images according to standard guidelines and assist in solving set-up issues.
- Work professionally and collaboratively with all members of the care team, including physicians, nurses, physics and dosimetry staff, medical assistants, and practice assistants.
- Participate in clinical instruction and evaluation of Radiation Therapy students.
- Other duties as assigned.
What You Will Bring
- High School Diploma or equivalent with a certificate in Radiation Therapy or an associate's degree in Radiation Therapy.
- Valid Massachusetts State License in Radiation Therapy.
- Continued employment is contingent upon obtaining valid ARRT certification within 6 months of hire date.
- Valid BLS certification.
