The challenge
The After Effects team is looking for individuals with an excellent work ethic who enjoy looking for software bugs (aka breaking software) and have a desire to ship the highest quality products around. As Quality Engineer, you will work with a dedicated team of development and quality engineers on the DVA product line. Quality Engineers get passionate about testing features, writing clear and concise bug reports, creating test cases, verifying bug fixes, communicating effectively with developers, quality engineers, and customers.
What you'll do
- Advocate for customers and recommend features and fixes that improve their workflow.
- Work with customers to better understand user workflows and reproduce their bugs.
- Write clear documentation for projects and features for which you are responsible.
- Implement test cases, ad hoc testing, and performance testing on new and existing features.
- Perform interoperability testing between After Effects and other DVA applications.
- Collaborate with development and user experience team members to build test cases for new features.
- Identify and use existing tools and test materials from other Adobe QE teams.
- Isolate bugs, write detailed bug reports, and verify and regress bugs.
What you need to succeed
- Experience with Adobe After Effects or other animation, video NLE, and digital audio applications.
- Experience with 3D modeling, painting, and rendering.
- Experience testing commercially released applications.
- Must meet deadlines and have demonstrated attention to detail.
- Strong organization skills are critical.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Solid understanding of Agile development processes and scrum.
- Familiarity with Windows and Mac platforms.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- College degree in film or related field is a plus.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $119,400 -- $236,400 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.
At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).
In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
