This position will collaborate with the power market operations team supporting technology business functions.
Job Responsibilities - Here is more about what you’ll be doing: This role is responsible for the information technology analysis, software configuration, development and support with the following objectives:
- Develop, configure and support application software and system interfaces, with object-oriented design. Provide database maintenance and implement queries in various database platforms.
- Uses Software development life cycle (SDLC) technology with standard methodologies for testing and implementation, with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Partner and interact with user community, infrastructure teams, peer developers, and vendors to deliver system improvements and operation that automate and streamline business processes.
- Share a team rotation for on-call support to ensure we maintain service during non-business hours.
- Transfers knowledge between peers, IT support and business users.
Required Qualifications: In addition to the skills and experience mentioned below, a successful applicant will have experience that reflects a dedication to crafting fair and equitable outcomes and has:Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, information systems, or related subject area.
Experience: 2+ years of professional experience in Information technology or a related subject area.
License, Certification(s) and Other Requirements: Current Washington State driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility.
Desired Qualifications: - C#, PowerShell, Oracle, MS SQL, PostgreSQL, Excel VBA, MS Office, Visio and Project to facilitate communication (oral and written) and deliver service as a team or individual.
- Electric power commodity experience with scheduling, delivery and settlement business functions.
- Experience in Energy Trading Risk Management (ETRM).
- Power scheduling, e-tagging, settlement and CAISO Energy Imbalance Market Operations (e.g. OATI or other vendor software products).
- IT support with Power Market application systems and tools for front, middle and back office that includes system installation, configuration, development, testing, and integration.
- Experience with software process and procedures for application administration, testing and operation including high-availability, disaster recovery, and upgrades.
- Operations research, engineering, mathematics or programming to optimize power generator dispatch and or commitment for market operation, especially hydro operation.
