Zixi, the market leader in video IP software solutions, is seeking a Technical Operations Engineer positioned on the East Coast to manage our post sales deployments with major broadcasters, content owners, and media service providers.
The Technical Operations Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and optimization of our technical systems and infrastructure. This role involves managing and troubleshooting technical issues, monitoring system performance, and implementing solutions to enhance operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Responsible for providing Tier II technical support for Zixi’s multiple contribution and distribution customers.
- Perform operational activities for maintenance and upkeep of all Zixi managed infrastructure.
- Work with vendors to identify and troubleshoot issues with equipment and services.
- Perform and review Incident management tasks, which includes but is not limited to triaging, investigating, and assessing logs, data, alerts, alarms, and trends from Incident management system and logging and monitoring systems.
- Responsible for maintaining escalation matrices and process flows, insuring updates and changes are communicated to all internal and external groups.
- Responsible for maintaining technical and operational “best practices” as they relate to the live contribution and distribution of media content.
- Assists in the preparation of detailed systems performance reports.
- Collaborate with internal Technology teams to identify viable solutions by means of policies, tools, procedures, and guidelines to mitigate existing technical problems and improve quality of deliverables, stability of applications and platforms.

General Requirements:
- Implements and maintain support policies.
- Participates in analysis and problem-solving efforts.
- Configuration, operations and monitoring of networks, systems and applications using industry tools (i.e. Wireshark, Datadog, and Grafana).
- 4+ years’ experience in a technical role operating and maintaining high availability, public-facing services.
- 2+ years’ experience working with vendors and technical service providers.
- Experience with streaming media encoding and distribution technologies.
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
- 24/7 On Call Escalation responsibilities.
Technical Requirements:
- B.S. in Engineering, Computer Science, or related IT field.
- Strong knowledge of live video workflows for media and broadcast companies including live linear channel and live event contributions and OTT delivery using cloud-based services for content ingest, transcoding, packaging and delivery.
- Strong knowledge of video terminologies, network infrastructure, internet protocols, CDN, Cloud services, security and virtualization.
- Expertise working with TCP/IP, UDP based solutions.
- Expertise working knowledge of UNIX/LINUX Operating systems.
- Scripting, API development experience using JavaScript, Python, VBScript a plus.
- Require considerable Linux and Windows experience.
- Extensive experience with cloud software deployments and platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.).

The base salary range for this position is $120,000 to $160,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
