Aon is looking for a Vice President with a Health Analytics Background to join the Health Analytics & Actuarial team in the US. As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions as part of the Health Analytics & Actuarial team in Chicago, IL or Atlanta, GA with flexibility to other locations near an Aon office.
This role will involve ownership of complex commercial analytics client delivery workstreams, technical leadership, partnering with other high visibility health innovation and clinical specialty expert teams within Aon to deliver, sell, and advance health analytic measurement consulting solutions for clients, supporting the broader health analytics and actuarial consulting practice in assisting clients with data-driven insights.
Your Impact as a Health Analytics Vice President
Job Responsibilities:
- Leverage role leading engagements and teams delivering scaled US commercial analytics and measurement solutions in the health solutions domain.
- Serve as client delivery lead and senior subject matter expert for high-profile engagements in health analytics, statistics, and data-science solutions and consulting; lead multiple projects and manage timelines, milestones, and delivery efficiently.
- Lead solutions based on large health claims and risk datasets such as eligibility data, medical claims, and prescription drug claims data from multiple different sources, demonstrating deep expertise in measurement methodology, statistics, and data science best practices.
- Establish and apply consistent best-practice methodology and quality principles in shaping analytics solution delivery; drive efficiency in process and team resources.
- Serve as senior consulting and technical reviewer for analyses; responsibility for quality control and application of best practices across projects.
- Support Business Development, external vendor engagements, and marketing efforts for engagements in the US Health Analytics space.
- Liaison and partner with other senior leaders within Aon’s health care analytics, actuarial, innovation, broking, and specialty practice areas.
- Serve as a leader in a dynamic team of data scientists, actuaries, data engineers, and analytics experts focused on healthcare data and innovation.
- Maintain knowledge of industry, market, and competition; anticipate external market trends, internal H&B needs, and/or client needs.
You Bring Knowledge and Expertise
Required Experience:
- Minimum 8 years work experience (min. 5 years with directly relevant US Healthcare Data Analytics experience in consulting, carrier, or analytics organization).
- Excellent technical writing and presentation skills, and ability to convey technical analyses and information in a clear manner to non-technical business audiences, including executive, clinical, and analytics leadership.
- Experience with developing and applying clinical and cost measurement techniques, statistical measurement, causal inference methods, and related techniques.
- Experience in measurement and validation of health care programs including development of financial, utilization, and clinical outcomes metrics.
- Detailed understanding and experience with medical and pharmacy insurance data including Diagnostic Coding ICD-10, Procedure Coding (CPT, DRG, ICD-10 PCS) and related industry standards.
- Experience working with large health claims datasets or gathering datasets.
- Experience with code review and advanced statistical or data science software (R, Python).
- Well-developed skills in project management/planning.
- Proficient in Word, PowerPoint, and document systems.
Education:
- Statistics, Econometrics, Health Economics, Epidemiology, Actuarial Science or related Graduate degree or Bachelor’s degree w/ Post-Graduate Coursework and/or Professional Certifications.
