Aon Is Looking for A Health & Benefits Consulting Vice President/ Account Executive
As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective Employee Benefit solutions as part of our Health & Benefits business group within Aon in our Capital area offices (Maryland, Virginia and DC).
Your Impact as a Health Solutions VP / Account Executive
The Health & Benefits Vice President will be a key contributor and leader for mid and large market clients. The role involves the management of ongoing Health and Benefits work for assigned clients including the placement of insurance and coordinating the assigned client team. This position will have frequent interactions with the client Human Resources, Benefits and Finance teams regarding the delivery of Benefits consulting services.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop employee benefits programs.
- Lead sophisticated benefits consulting projects.
- Frequent vendor interface.
- Develop client reports.
- Lead external meetings and internal resource coordination.
- Grow the client relationship through excellent service and expanding the types of services delivered to the client.
- Provide consulting services and guidance to mid & large market clients.
- Run the day-to-day work to serve client needs, coordinate the client team, and respond to client inquiries.
- Possess a fundamental understanding of the Health Solutions practice and participate as needed on task forces and special project teams.
- Specific areas of expertise needed include benefit plan design, rate analysis, strategy, RFP development and response review, insurance carrier negotiations, stewardship report preparation, benchmark analysis, client financial analysis and reporting, and carrier contract reviews.
- Exhibit leadership in business judgment in anticipating client/project needs and developing alternative solutions.
- Form effective teams, share client background and goals, measure results, share ideas, identify process improvements, and provide timely and regular coaching and feedback to team members.
- Lead all aspects of vendor negotiations and provide coaching to other team members.
- Act as a strategic resource for consultants.
- Exhibit thought leadership—understand and articulate ideas to clients.
- Be willing to learn about other Aon solution lines and introduce them to clients as appropriate.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
You Bring Knowledge and Expertise
Required Experience:
- Twelve plus years of Health and Benefits background.
- Five plus years of Benefits consulting/brokerage experience.
- Client-facing experience at a consulting company, insurance company, brokerage or in the Health and Benefits discipline.
- Complex project management experience.
- Broad business knowledge/perspective.
- Team building skills.
- Business development experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
Preferred Experience:
- Government contracting experience.
- Public sector experience is also a plus.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of industry experience.
- Life/Accident/Health insurance license (or ability to learn license after hire).
