The Splunk Global Security (SGS) team is looking for a Chief of Staff supporting the office of the CISO. As a member of the office of the CISO you will collaborate with leadership, finance, and cross-functional partners to:
- Lead quarterly, annual, and monthly planning including board meetings.
- Establish cadences to improve alignment across operational processes.
- Lead and report on Objectives and Key Results (OKRs).
- Communicate outcomes across key partner communities.

Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the SGS team and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure short and long-term strategies across the Splunk Global Security services are being achieved.
- Build key relationships across Splunk to foster a ‘built with security' mindset, enable the adoption of SGS services, influence their security priorities and raise awareness of applicable risks.
- Lead the strategic planning and budgeting process to ensure alignment with business objectives and investments, overseeing the tracking and management of quarterly reporting and processes.
- Manage program performance by analyzing operational data, deriving insights and influencing priorities to elevate the security posture across Splunk.
- Establish and manage reporting and metric requirements for all elements of the SGS organization for the CISO and the board of directors.
- Design operational strategies to scale service capabilities and delivery.
- Ensure the timely and effective execution of medium- and long-term initiatives committed to by the CISO, to support implementation of security measures and services.
- Interface directly with Splunk senior leadership, participate in and oversee execution and management of Splunk’s key collaborative committees such as Executive Security Steering Committee, Audit and Ethics, etc.
Communications
- Lead all aspects of the execution of the SGS communication strategy and organizational change management efforts.
- Develop Executive-level and Board of Directors reporting, communications, and presentations.
Requirements
- 15 years of experience and/or Chief of Staff experience in the Cybersecurity profession.
- This is an individual contributor role but people management experience is a plus.
- B.A./B.S or equivalent practical experience.
- Technical knowledge of the threat landscape, adversarial techniques, and mitigation.
- Solid grasp and experience defending large scale application and multi-cloud environment.
- Up to date understanding of current trends in the cybersecurity industry.
- Proven experience developing and driving execution of strategy across multiple cyber security focus areas.
- Data-driven approach to influence decision making.
- Able to influence cross-functional priorities and explain sophisticated security topics to others who may have minimal technical knowledge.
- Fosters and builds a collaborative working relationship with operational and business partners.
- Experience with Audit and auditing standards and practices, legislation as associated with cybersecurity mandates, etc.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Excellent analysis, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Budget management experience: Department and projects.
- Excellent with active budget and headcount management and prioritization.
