CHI Health-Creighton University School of Medicine is actively seeking an infectious disease physician to enhance our ID team at Creighton University Medical Center, Bergan Mercy hospital in Omaha, Nebraska. This role is perfect for a physician passionate about delivering patient care, teaching multiple levels of learners, and leading a nationally known hospital epidemiology program at our academic medical center.
Clinical Opportunity highlights:
- Creighton University Bergan-Mercy Medical Center is a tertiary medical center with a Level 1 trauma center, 24-hour in-house hospitalist coverage, and robust surgical services.
- Exciting opportunity to work with an infection prevention team in an academic medical facility, with regional and national collaboration to advance evidence-based practices.
- Full spectrum of adult infectious disease.
- Position includes up to 0.2 FTE hospital epidemiology for Level I trauma tertiary care center, one half-day clinic per week, and inpatient rounding time on both teaching and non-teaching services.
- Diverse interests in our growing, well-respected ID group (14 ID physicians and 10 advanced practice providers): HIV, hepatitis B, hepatitis C, sexually transmissible infections, antimicrobial stewardship, infection prevention, orthopedic ID, public health advocacy, and medical education.
- Call 1:4.
- Educational environment includes weekly ID citywide clinical case conferences, grand rounds, and fellow educational sessions. Twice-weekly microbiology rounds and monthly in-house journal club in addition to weekly internal medicine grand rounds complete the educational environment.
- Academic service rounding team includes an ID fellow, internal medicine residents, medical students, and a clinical pharmacist. Non-academic service includes an ID-trained APP.
- Academic appointment with Creighton University School of Medicine, rank commensurate with level of experience.
- Teaching and mentorship of medical students, residents, and ID fellows. Fellowship program currently has 3 ID fellows.
