The Vice Chancellor, Elkhart County (VC) is responsible directly to the Campus Chancellor or designee in providing leadership, supervision, and guidance in the development, delivery, administration, and implementation of all programs and services delivered at the Elkhart County location, while fostering a climate that is consistent with the College’s core values. The VC consults with the Chancellor and campus leadership to achieve policy objectives and goals, for building new and varied community outreach and partnerships, in aligning the availability of the College’s academic and training programs with the community’s workforce needs, and achieving increased student enrollment, retention, and success.
This position also oversees the campus Ivy Career Link and provides support, leadership, and guidance to the staff. The VC will focus on establishing strategies within the department that will coordinate with statewide efforts in key areas of enrollment, completion, and student success.
Major Responsibilities:
- Assists in the recruitment, selection, retention, and supervision of staff and faculty at the site.
- Works collaboratively with campus academic affairs to coordinate all location academic activities, to include selection and scheduling of classes with academic and training delivery to the local community.
- Communicate and collaborate with academic leads to ensure site class offerings align with structured and curriculum needs for the community.
- Engages with employers, K-12 partners, and community leaders as Ivy Tech’s senior leader within the community to ensure dual credit opportunities, appropriate program offerings, and workforce alignment.
- Develops working partnerships with the community, industry, and other educational organizations to promote the College and site; in collaboration with Campus leadership, develops programs and services that respond to their changing needs.
- Provides support and assistance to Ivy Career Link initiatives, including relationship building with industries and initiating calls with Ivy Career Link staff to identify workforce needs, offer appropriate programming and set-up Achieve Your Degree (AYD) and similar partnerships.
- Works collaboratively with the K-14 Director to ensure opportunities for dual enrolled collaboration with secondary education partners are addressed and aligned to meet workforce aligned outcomes in Elkhart County.
- Meets regularly with community leaders to ensure the location is aligned with economic development and educational initiatives of the community.
- Assists Chancellor and campus leadership with the coordination of location marketing and communications functions.
- Oversees the development and administration of budgets for the site, and determines priorities for expenditures.
- In coordination with campus facilities leadership, provides facilities management for the site.
- Oversees business office operations for the site, in coordination with campus business/bursar office leadership.
- Serving as a model for strong leadership, develops and supports the Campus culture of team collaboration, commitment, and accountability to delivering high quality services and outcomes, by being student- and employee-centered.
- Collaborates with campus cabinet members to implement the College strategic plan across the campus service area. Executes strategic initiatives and resource allocation at a local level to achieve college-wide and campus-level metrics.
- Creates and maintains an environment where planning, development, and delivery of services for students occur in a creative and effective manner that fosters cultural and global awareness.
- Provides leadership in the collaboration of staff to facilitate planning sessions that will identify critical issues and problems, suggest and recommends options, develop consensus on appropriate alternatives, and works with staff to implement approved recommendations.
- Acts alongside the Chancellor as a key strategic representative to many external agencies, consortia, partnerships, and workforce groups throughout the campus service area in matters related to student career coaching, work-and-learn constructs, apprenticeships, placement frameworks, and employer workforce needs.
- Leads the campus as it seeks to fulfill and expand the training, education, and career development partnership opportunities with business, industry, government, and community members.
- Assists in creating and maintaining strategic alliances and building long-term relationships with economic development entities, corporations, community groups, local agencies, local K-12s, etc.
- Works alongside the Chancellor and Resource Development staff to identify and attract public and private funding opportunities to support the current and ongoing financial needs of the campus.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree.
- A minimum of five years of leadership and management experience and related work experience, preferably in post-secondary organizations.
- Must be adept at resolving individual and group conflicts, and must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Must possess excellent organizational, planning, evaluation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to partner well with colleagues both in and outside of the organization.
- Ability to promote an inclusive environment that reflects the broad diversity and backgrounds represented by our students and employees and which every individual feels respected and valued.
- Must have the ability and willingness to travel.

Work Hours:
Hiring Range: $105,000 - $115,000
