Position Overview:
The Director of Patient Serves role at Ironwood requires a passionate, analytical, and collaborative individual focused on developing and overseeing the programs and initiatives that support patient access. This role will provide both strategic and tactical oversight in the development, implementation, and management of patient service programs in alignment with market needs and the patients we serve. The Director will cultivate and maintain strong collaborative relationships with key stakeholders to effectively lead the execution of strategic and tactical plans. This position reports directly to the Executive Director of Patient Support Services, Reimbursement, and Distribution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive launch plans for all program access and affordability initiatives, ensuring alignment with patient strategy.
- Collaborate effectively and in compliance with Brand Lead(s), Marketing, Field Sales, Medical Affairs, Advocacy, and other critical functions.
- Oversee the daily management of Ironwoods’ patient support programs, including access services, adherence support, and educational resources.
- Achieve annual key objectives and demonstrate accountability for execution, driving results and performance.
- Monitor and assess program effectiveness, implementing data-driven improvements as necessary to enhance outcomes.
- Ensure adherence to all corporate and industry policies, following training provided by Ironwood's Commercial, Legal, Regulatory, and Compliance. Implement quality assurance processes to uphold high service delivery standards.
- Optimize resource allocation to maximize the impact and efficiency of support programs.
- Manage program analytics and metrics via dashboards/reports to maintain program transparency, identify trends, measure program success, and support strategic decision-making for the patient support programs.
- Ensure Organizational Training, communications and compliance as needed to ensure a strong understanding of Patient Services and Specialty Pharmacy services.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years experience managing patient support program vendor partners including patient and provider support services, co-pay assistance and patient assistance programs.
- Experience with nursing injection training support.
- A proven track record of successful project delivery and positive performance results.
- Demonstrated capability to understand Specialty Pharmacies and synergistic opportunities with patient support services programs.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong results orientation and a sense of urgency to get things done
- Ability to work successfully in a dynamic, fast paced, team-oriented environment
- Ability to travel

Ironwood currently anticipates that the initial base salary for this position could range from between $202,000 to $236,040. The actual base salary will depend, in part, on the successful candidate’s qualifications for the role, including education and experience.
