Job Title: Psychiatrist
Location: Cattaraugus and Erie Counties
Salary: $70-$80/hour

Job Overview:
We are seeking a Psychiatrist to provide on-site psychiatric care and consultative services for individuals with developmental disabilities in Cattaraugus and Erie Counties. The position requires up to 40 hours of psychiatric services per week under the direction and supervision of the Western NY DDSOO and Article 16 Clinic Medical Director or their designee. The Treatment Provider will be responsible for psychiatric evaluations, medication management, treatment planning, and collaboration with the individual's treatment team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and be licensed to practice as a Psychiatrist in the state of New York.
Responsibilities:
- Provide on-site psychiatric care and consultative services for individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Conduct psychiatric assessments based on observations, interactions, and written reports.
- Ensure clear and concise evaluation reports that address the individual's mental status and treatment needs.
- Participate in the development of treatment plans and case management.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of findings, recommendations, and progress notes.
- Provide crisis intervention and prescribe medication when necessary.
- Monitor the effects of prescribed medications.
- Collaborate with medical personnel, interdisciplinary teams, and other providers.
Qualifications:
- Must be duly qualified and licensed to practice medicine in the state of New York.
- Psychiatrist: Possess a license to practice medicine in New York State and complete an accredited training program in general psychiatry accepted by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
- Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner: Hold a New York State license as a Registered Professional Nurse and be certified in Psychiatry by the New York State Education Department.
- Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner: Have a Collaborative Practice Agreement with a licensed physician qualified in Psychiatry (unless meeting qualifications stated in the Nurse Practitioner's Modernization Act).
- Minimum of one year of experience in serving people with developmental disabilities.
- Not on any state or federal list of individuals prohibited from submitting a Medicaid claim.
