About the Role: As a Technical Program Manager (TPM), you will own and improve the stability of our platform, a key priority for our company. Reporting to the CTO, you will oversee the management of testing automation, QA processes, and optimize and maintain organized issue tracking systems. Your role is crucial in ensuring all releases are thoroughly tested, documented, and communicated, delivering a seamless experience to our users.
The ideal candidate has a strong technical background, program management experience, an eye for detail, and willingness to get hands-on with our QA processes.
This is a remote position, but the candidate must be based in the United States.
Key Responsibilities:
- Test Automation and QA Oversight:
- Lead our test automation program by identifying and prioritizing areas for automation to improve test efficiency and coverage.
- Develop, implement and maintain test automation processes, frameworks and scripts
- Collaborate with product managers, developers, and designers to define and implement comprehensive test plans and test cases.
- Conduct regular reviews of test cases to ensure coverage, relevance, and accuracy.
- Engineering Program Management:
- Review bugs submitted via our public bug board and prioritize bugs based on severity and impact.
- Collaborate with developers to highlight any critical issues and assist in bug resolution.
- Implement and refine processes to improve project efficiency and team productivity. Advocate for best practices in project management and agile methodologies.
- Tracking and Metrics:
- Define, establish, and track QA metrics such as regression rate and test coverage to measure the effectiveness of QA processes.
- Analyze community feedback and public bug reports to identify issue trends and areas for improvement.
- Report on QA performance and progress to stakeholders, highlighting successes and areas needing attention.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of work experience in a technical role.
- Degree in computer science or other related field (e.g. math, physics).
- Proven experience as a Technical Program Manager for a large technology company. Experience also working as a Software Engineer preferred.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Familiarity with Flutter and Dart is a plus, but not required.
- You are willing to travel 4-6 times per year, which may include 1-2 international trips.
