Seeking full-time Physician Assistant or Acute Care Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner to support the Stroke & Neurointervention team.
The stroke team has 4 physicians, 2 of whom are neurointerventionalists who specialize in intracranial clot removal in emergent large vessel occlusion strokes. We are recruiting a team of four (4) inpatient APPs who will work alongside the physicians to run the Stroke Service, which includes, but is not limited to:
- Treating ICU and surgical patients, attending emergent Stroke codes and floor patients.
- This role is responsible for responding to the stroke codes during daytime hours to help provide emergent care for suspected stroke patients.
- APPs are trained to read neuro imaging including CTs, MRIs, and interpret necessary lab works.
- During the initial training period, the schedule will be five 8-hour shifts, then transition to four 10-hour shifts.
Qualifications:
Licensure, Education, Certifications, and Clearances:
PA:
- A graduate of a physician assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) is required.
- BS or MS candidate is preferred.
- Experience as a physician assistant and/or experience in a clinical setting is preferred.
- Current state PA license certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) is required.
- Current CPR certification is required.
- Act 34 Clearance is required.
CRNP:
- The successful completion of an approved nurse practitioner program is required.
- BSN, MSN is preferred.
- Professional nursing experience and/or nurse practitioner experience is preferred.
- Current state RN license and CRNP certification are required.
- National certification, eligible for licensure by the Pennsylvania Board of Nursing, eligible for certification as a CRNP by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
- Current CPR certification is required.
- Act 34 Clearance is required.
