About the Role
You will report to a HW Technical Program Management lead and will interface with product, hardware, software, operation, testing and supplier. This role is a hybrid role and requires being on site at our SF office 2 days per week. In this role you will help build the next generation of robotic systems within DoorDash Labs from the ground up! We’re a team of people who live and breathe building robots and complex electromechanical systems. We’re unfazed by challenges or new problems and strive to build world-class solutions.

- Be part of an exciting effort to develop and manufacture new autonomous delivery robots
- Lead internal multi-functional development teams and drive issue resolution for R&D project and/or various HW sub-system development, like drive train, sensor, compute, battery, ID, or sub-control systems
- Manage external key module or component supplier for engineer development and parts delivery to meet development schedule
- Work with system TPM to ensure R&D, module and component development and delivery meets overall product schedule
- Present and communicate module development and R&D project status to the program or executive team
We're excited about you because you have…
- Minimum 5 years of industry experience
- Bachelor or above degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, physics or related technical field
- Proven record of delivering hardware product or modules from concept to high volume manufacturing
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Understanding of hardware product development cycle
- Preferred strong technical background in mechanical engineering or electrical engineering
