Responsibilities We have an exciting opportunity for BC/BE pediatricians to work as newborn hospitalists at our busy, diverse, multispecialty neonatology practice in the North Dallas area. Our pediatricians are part of a team that includes in-house neonatologists along with our affiliated group of neonatal nurse practitioners, developmental pediatricians, cardiologists, MFMs and pediatric surgeons who provide comprehensive newborn services at multiple hospitals.
Details:
- Provide 10-hour, in-house coverage in the newborn nursery and on call from home in the evening
- Responsibilities include admissions and management of infants in the newborn nursery, delivery attendance, transitional care, circumcisions and consultations with families
- Provide Level-I to Level-II newborn care at Methodist Richardson Medical Center where there is an average daily census between 10-15 babies, Dallas Regional Medical Center – ADC 8 to 10, Texas Health Hospital Plano – ADC 12 to 17
- Neonatologist assistance/backup is provided as needed and in all high-risk situations
- Flexibility with interest in learning and a desire to teach are highly valued
