Nemours Children's Hospital, Delaware is hiring a GENERAL CARDIOLOGIST to provide coverage for outpatient and inpatient cardiology consultation needs. Experience in non-invasive EP, Exercise Testing, Preventive Cardiology, or a combination thereof is optional but preferred. Faculty at junior, early or mid-career level are encouraged to apply.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Outpatient clinic on call and coverage of the inpatient consult service. Associate may participate in educational and research opportunities with supportive resources.
About the Nemours Cardiac Center:
A state-of-the-art integrated practice with over 250 associates, including a 16-bed cardiac intensive care unit, 2 hybrid interventional and EP laboratories, and a 16-bed inpatient acute care unit with dedicated PACU and OR. We are looking for a pediatric cardiologist with imaging skills in all echocardiography modalities. A physician with more than three years of imaging experience in an academic program or fourth-year imaging skills is desired. Interest or prior expertise in leading QI efforts within imaging or widely in the division of cardiology will be beneficial.
The personnel in the cardiac center include 3 CT surgeons, 6 cardiac intensivists, 4 cardiac anesthesiologists, and 22 cardiologists including 2 interventionalists, 1 electrophysiologist, 2 heart failure and transplant specialists, and 2 ACHD certified physicians. We have 12 advanced practice providers and 2.5 psychologists, along with a genetic counselor, and all patient care services needed for optimal patient care collocated under the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine.

Our academic affiliation is with Thomas Jefferson University, with research collaborations with the University of Delaware and Christiana Care.
The Cardiac Center launched the Program for Cardiovascular Research and Innovations in 2022, supporting and mentoring many physicians and fellows. We take two categorical fellows a year and one advanced imaging fellow.
Imaging Section:
The Imaging section of the Nemours Cardiac Center provides coverage and oversight of the main hospital in Wilmington and 13 clinics across NJ, DE, PA, and MD. The Imaging Section oversees the performance of over 12,000 transthoracic echocardiograms, over 1,700 fetal echocardiograms, and 250 cardiac MRIs. It also offers advanced imaging capabilities in deformation imaging, 3D echo, contrast echo, and stress echocardiograms. The Imaging resource infrastructure is supported by a dedicated IT team and is integrated with our EHR systems.
Our Imaging physicians are involved in multiple multicenter studies in the Fetal Heart Society and are active with SCMR.
We also founded the Mid-Atlantic Congenital Cardiac Imaging Society, providing a platform for regional networking and growth opportunities for fellows and physicians.
Minimum Requirements:
- Completed a three-year Board-Certified Pediatric Cardiology Fellowship.
- Fourth year in imaging is preferred if a candidate has less than 3 years of imaging dedicated responsibilities.
Those at mid-career level with over 7 years of experience at an associate professor level with interest in a leadership opportunity within the Cardiac Center Imaging Program are strongly encouraged to apply.
