Position Title: Nephrologist
The Section of Nephrology at the Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine and Boston Medical Center is seeking a full-time Academic Nephrologist to join our faculty.
The successful applicant will be an outstanding clinician with interests in teaching, scholarship, and care of the underserved. Our nephrology practice is highly academic and rooted in service to the community and those in greatest need of specialty nephrology care.
Experience in quality improvement, community outreach, or clinical research is highly desirable. We anticipate recruiting clinicians at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level, with opportunities for promotion on the clinical or unmodified track at Boston University.
Department Overview:
The Section of Nephrology at BU/BMC has a rich tradition of excellence in clinical care and research with 20 faculty, Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), and eight nephrology fellows. The clinical services of the Nephrology Section include inpatient consult services staffed by nephrology fellows; an inpatient teaching service staffed by internal medicine house staff and medical students; transplant nephrology with approximately 30-60 transplants per year; outpatient clinics at Boston Medical Center and affiliated neighborhood health centers; and two dialysis units, one of which is walking distance from the main campus. Our outpatient services also include subspecialty clinics in lupus nephritis, resistant hypertension, sickle cell nephropathy, and amyloidosis.
Job Requirements and Skills:
- MD or DO.
- Board Certification/Board Eligible in Internal Medicine.
- Qualified candidates must be licensed or able to obtain a license in the State of Massachusetts.
- Active DEA.
- Current BLS is required.
- Spanish language proficiency is highly preferred, but not required.
