Interventional Cardiology Opening in Jacksonville, Florida Metro!!
- Interventionalist w/ heavy peripheral skills or interest – NO structural
We have a tremendous volume of patients and the doctors who join our group will become busy right away.
Seven year old group. It is a private practice is a single specialty cardiology and peripheral vascular disease practice. There are five physicians in the group – four interventionalists and one electrophysiologist. The practice is located in Jacksonville across the street from the Hospital.
The office has an abundance of exam rooms, well-trained medical assistants, and five ARNPs. Full ancillary services including nuclear medicine, cardiac PET, echocardiography, vascular ultrasound, pacer checks, remote and holter monitoring, etc. We have registered techs (RVT and RDMS) and a very busy venous program including laser and radiofrequency ablations and sclerotherapy.
The lab is busy with peripheral vascular and coronary diagnostic angiograms. The peripheral cases include many complex peripheral interventional cases, including laser atherectomy, rotoblator, angio jet, etc. The peripheral vascular is well established with a diverse referral base. Importantly, the more experienced operators work alongside and help new peripheral interventionalists gain the experience and exposure to the complex cases at the office-based lab.
The office is located across the street from a hospital, an approximately 450-bed facility, which has 6 labs, 4 cardiac and peripheral, and one or two full-time EP labs and a hybrid room that can perform routine coronary and PV, EP WACHMAN, lead extraction, latest ablations, and has a structural program including TAVR.
The practice maintains several sub-offices. Ordinarily, there may be one or two days per month to a sub-office for clinic. The clinics are not far away, and the entire day will be spent there with no other duties. The area that almost all doctors live in is centrally located, equidistant to all offices from their homes.
Call rotation for STEMI is most often for established group patients, and once per month or so it may coincide with the hospital STEMI call. The group is on call rotation (1:4 or 5). We have about 25-35 patients in the hospital every day to consult or round, and this number will grow. We have ARNPs to assist.
The hospital rounding rotates to the on-call doctor. The group admits 99% of the patients through the hospitalists or PCPs, and our cardiologists primarily consult. After you leave for the evening, usually phone calls only, except interventionalists respond to STEMI or cold legs.
The volume of this practice is high, with referrals from over 100 sources and a large population of established patients. You will enter a very busy practice. There will be some general cardiology for everyone in the group, but the EP and interventionalists will be extremely busy with PV and coronary cases. The structural program is growing, but this is not a high-volume structural position.
