The Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition seeks a ninth pediatric gastroenterologist to join a growing academic and clinical division! The position provides an exciting opportunity to pursue an active academic career in pediatric gastroenterology and nutrition.
Physicians with Advanced Endoscopy experience (i.e., ERCP with sphincterotomy and stent placements, Endoscopic Ultrasound with Fine needle aspiration, double balloon enteroscopy, endoscopic submucosal dissection, POEM, G-POEM, Endoknife, Transnasal Endoscopy) are encouraged to apply.
Physicians with a passion for undergraduate and graduate medical education and wanting to partner in the establishment of a pediatric gastroenterology fellowship program are also encouraged to apply.
Current faculty is comprised of 8 pediatric gastroenterologists, two of which are primarily affiliated with a partner hospital. Four full-time nurse practitioners, 2 registered dietitians, 1 research coordinator, 2 social workers/licensed clinical therapists, 2 clinical coordinators, and 1 family support and advocacy coordinator play integral roles in our vibrant and busy division.
We are supported by the presence of all major pediatric subspecialists. We have an integrated and coordinated GI/Surgery program alignment, with specific focuses on Motility, Polyposis, Short Gut/Intestinal Rehabilitation, and Inflammatory Bowel Disease. Imbedded in the GI Division are Centers dedicated to Feeding Disorders, Celiac Disease, Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Intestinal Rehabilitation, and complex Motility disorders. Our division plays an integral part in the multidisciplinary care of patients with cystic fibrosis and Aerodigestive disorders.
Responsibilities of these positions include providing direct patient care in inpatient and ambulatory settings, medical education of students and trainees, and participation in clinical research and/or quality improvement. The start date is negotiable, and the position will remain open until filled.
The successful candidate will have experience and knowledge of all pediatric GI and hepatology disorders; demonstrated skills in the full gamut of pediatric GI endoscopic and other procedures; and excellent communication and team skills. The candidate will have completed fellowship in good standing in Pediatric Gastroenterology at an RRC-approved fellowship program (or equivalent), MD (or equivalent) degree, Board Certified in Pediatrics, and BE/BC in Pediatric Gastroenterology.
