How You'll Contribute:
The Tax Manager in the State and Local Tax group would be responsible for the delivery of a full range of tax services for multiple clients in a wide variety of industries.
- Plan, execute, and complete state tax projects in a wide variety of industries;
- Perform tax research on various multi-state income/franchise and sales and uses tax issues impacting our clients; preparation of technical memorandums, drafting client correspondence and counseling clients in defending against state tax audits;
- State Income Tax and sales and use tax planning, implementation, due diligence;
- State tax exposure modeling using Excel or other tools;
- Experience in state taxability studies, state nexus studies and implementation of sales tax compliance tools/programs;
- Consult, work with, and service clients to make recommendations on business and process improvement and serve as a business advisor to client;
- Train and mentor staff on tax projects and assess performance for engagement and year-end reviews;
- Maintain and expand knowledge in area of expertise, comply with continuing education requirements; participate in professional organizations, etc.
What Skills You'll Bring:
- At least 5 years of relevant tax consulting experience, specific to state and local sales tax;
- CPA or JD with an Advanced degree in Tax, and/or LLM in Tax;
- Broad exposure to State and Local Taxes including knowledge in Sales and Use Tax, State Income/Franchise Tax, Credits and Incentives, with Property Tax as a plus;
- Ability to provide exceptional client service, demonstrate commitment to continuous learning, display appropriate ethical knowledge and commitment, and exhibit a sense of urgency and commitment to quality and the timely completion of duties;
- Excellent research and verbal/written communication skills; organizational, leadership skills a plus.
