POSITION OVERVIEW
At Beneficial State Bank, the Branch Manager is responsible for taking care of our customers and employees, making them feel welcomed and valued. As a Branch Manager, you ensure the Branch meets and exceeds customer expectations and will create a People First culture in the Branch. You direct all aspects of Branch operations, in addition to growing the deposits and lending at the branch and coaching and mentoring the team. The Branch Manager collaborates with a variety of internal stakeholders, including Marketing, Commercial Banking, Consumer Lending, and Central Operations to provide a seamless customer experience. You will work to lead your team with energy, professionalism, and urgency toward organizational and cultural growth that aligns with our Mission – To practice Beneficial Banking, in harmony with nature, to help more people and help people more.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Creates a People First culture for customers and employees by ensuring an excellent customer experience and creating an outstanding work environment for all.
- Builds partnerships with local businesses to grow the brand in the local market through strong community involvement and trusting relationships.
- Creates an environment that encourages team members to provide an exceptional customer experience and a dynamic and engaging culture.
- Identifies, coaches, develops, motivates, and supports team to provide superior service to every customer.
- Promotes a strong control environment to evaluate, manage and conduct new and existing business by adhering to risk/control expectations, procedures, and processes.
- Identifies strategies to successfully grow deposits & investments for the Branch.
- Makes decisions and resolves issues regarding customer and team experience, risk, and growth of the retail banking team to meet all banking objectives.
- Engages customers to better understand their financial needs and works proactively to help them achieve financial success.
- Leads, manages, and develops a team of direct reports with low to moderate complexity and risk in retail branches.
- Completes all online compliance training as assigned within specified due dates and ensures team does also.
- Acts as a role model and actively promotes the Banks mission and vision with their team and customers.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
The position of Branch Manager is responsible for the direct supervision of assigned employees.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and/or five years of related experience; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 3 years people management required with a preference for that experience taking place in a Retail Banking environment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of branch banking and operational functions, bank services and products, and related policies and procedures.
- Advanced knowledge of state and federal banking compliance regulations.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and interact with diverse stakeholders.
- Well-developed business management and relationship building skills.
- Experience and knowledge in consumer and small business lending, underwriting activities, and terminology.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the proven ability to provide leadership, supervision, and training.
- The ability to travel for business purposes at least 10% of the time and attend events that are outside of normal business hours.
- Outstanding leadership experience, with a proven, successful record of coaching and empowering employees.
- Ability to organize and manage competing priorities effectively across branch locations.
- Experience creating and maintaining a strong risk and control environment with demonstrated commitment to operational integrity and policies.
