Summary
The Public Cloud Transformation Services group is responsible for Cloud transformation at Morgan Stanley. PCTS has many smaller focused squads working on specific objectives to enable internal customers.
The Client Facing Application squad/team for Investment Management (CFA-IM) is responsible for provisioning necessary services in Azure to onboard business applications in the cloud. These services include infrastructure, software, and platform offerings of Azure.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business application owners (Product Owners) to understand use cases and provision services in Azure.
- Work with self-organized squads, proactively assigning work and making it visible via completed user stories and daily scrum updates.
- Work on Landing Zone components of the client-facing application (CFA) squad.
- Create automation code through Terraform, Golang, PowerShell, Azure CLI, .Net SDK.
- Manage Azure services including:
- Vnet, Network Security Group, User Defined Routing, Firewall changes, Private links.
- Azure policies, Azure Active Directory, Identity and Access Management.
- On-premises to cloud configurations.
- Third-party tools such as Splunk, Spring Cloud Gateway, Akamai, F5.
- Establish security guardrails around Infrastructure, Platform, and Software services of Azure.
- Collaborate with customer security teams to recommend and implement best practices for cloud services.
- Work with Azure DevOps pipelines and repositories – YAML based pipeline configuration and best practices.
- Review internal customer/business unit use case requirements and provide consulting on onboarding to Azure.
- Coordinate with Microsoft support as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in IT or a STEM program, preferably with financial services industry experience.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to lead by example.
- 3-5 years of experience working in the Azure cloud platform, including:
- Identity and Access Management (IAM).
- Management Groups and Subscriptions.
- Hands-on implementation experience in Azure Infrastructure Service offerings such as Vnet, NSGs, UDRs, ASGs, Azure Firewall configurations, Peering, Hub and Spoke topology, and Virtual Machines lifecycle management.
- Hands-on implementation experience in Azure Platform Service offerings such as API Management, API Gateway, App Service Environment, Storage Accounts, Key Vault, Data Bricks.
- Hands-on implementation experience in Azure Software Service offerings such as SQL Managed Instance, Logic Apps, Functions.
- Equivalent AWS services experience will be considered (e.g., AWS Beanstalk, API Gateway, AWS KMS, S3, VPC, IAM Roles).
- Hands-on experience in coding, deploying, and validating IaC (Infrastructure as Code) solutions through Terraform/Golang.
- Excellent knowledge of creating, configuring, and managing Azure DevOps pipelines, repositories, and security isolation.
- Good understanding of implementing access controls on Azure services across cloud platforms (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
- Experience with GitHub Actions pipelines and third-party cloud security platforms like Palo Alto Prisma Cloud Security.
- Prior working knowledge of Splunk, Spring Cloud Gateway, Akamai, F5.
- Experience implementing Landing Zones for complex enterprises.
- Experience in High-availability and Disaster Recovery scenarios.
- Valid Azure Certification (not just one exam passed).
