We are seeking a highly experienced Chief Operations Officer (COO) to join our team. The COO will work closely with the CEO and ownership to establish and achieve both short- and long-term company goals. This leader will be responsible for overseeing operations, developing systems and processes, and driving successful service delivery across all project lifecycles. The ideal candidate will have leadership experience within a medium-sized Commercial General Contractor , with self-performing concrete and/or civil contracting experience highly preferred . The COO will also manage operations with valuations between $50M and $100M .
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and optimize current operational capabilities, prioritizing improvements and developing actionable roadmaps.
- Oversee the entire lifecycle of large construction projects, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency are met at all stages.
- Lead the self-performing contractor division, particularly in concrete and civil work, enhancing performance and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with the CEO and leadership team to meet both short-term and long-term strategic goals.
- Manage department budgets, ensuring the right personnel are in place for successful project execution.
- Establish and implement systems and methods for managing construction project lifecycles, tracking KPIs, and improving project performance.
- Drive daily operations with a focus on large construction projects , ensuring compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
- Support business development efforts, building and maintaining strong client relationships to contribute to company growth.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the construction industry, with leadership experience in a medium-sized Commercial General Contractor .
- Experience in self-performing concrete or civil contracting is highly preferred.
- Proven track record managing projects with operations valuations between $50M and $100M .
- Extensive experience with large construction projects , particularly in the commercial, industrial, and multi-family sectors.
- Strong financial management skills, with a proven ability to manage project budgets and implement quantitative success measures.
- Deep knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety protocols , and best practices in construction.
- Excellent leadership and team-building skills, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Proficiency in strategic planning, with experience driving both operational and business development goals.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to maintain and build positive relationships with clients, subcontractors, and staff.
