Job Description:
The IT Business Partner has the primary responsibility of working closely with the senior leadership team to deliver business value through technology streamlining and innovation. This includes the creation and management of technology strategy, and execution of related programs and practices that drive measurable business outcomes for the business unit. This role involves working with cross-functional teams to drive alignment on strategy; developing talent and a mature culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability; building trust and managing deliverables; and evolving technology capabilities.
General Responsibilities:
- Partners with the Business Unit (BU) President and Senior Leadership Team (SLT) in providing technology vision and direction for the BU that is aligned with the overall IT vision and enterprise roadmap.
- Provide strategic direction and oversight for the design, development, operation and support of technology capabilities that drive business value.
- Works with the CIO and business leadership team, providing broad insight into IT domains and capabilities in support of BU-specific business decisions.
- Is responsible for driving focus and prioritization of all BU initiatives through establishing strategic planning and governance principles and processes.
- Oversees the execution of high-impact, strategic programs, or digital transformation initiatives.
- Stays current with developments in new market trends and innovations in technology and the leadership of enterprise IT.
- Responsible for developing and managing strategic vendor and partnership relationships.
- Oversees the development and maintenance of IT policies, procedures, methodologies, and governance as well as performance management frameworks and metrics to ensure the IT organization delivers value to the BU in alignment with enterprise priorities.
- Key player in IT workforce strategy development and management, including the sourcing, training, and development of staff.
- Establishes and implements continuous improvement programs for the IT organization.
- Drives and facilitates effective collaboration and communications between the IT organization and the user and customer communities.
- Is responsible for directing the preparation, review, and consolidation of business plans and budgets for the IT organization.
- Directs technology specific risk evaluation and compliance management processes working closely with those business leaders.
- Build partnerships with executive leadership to establish the vision for managing data as a business asset to exploit data and analytics capabilities to maximize the value derived from data assets.
- Define technology framework that is aligned with evolving regulatory, privacy and security requirements.
- Foster the creation of a data-driven culture, related competencies, and data literacy across the enterprise. Lead these transformation efforts by working closely with IT Leadership Team (ITLT).
- Establish and maintain trust in data assets by instituting governance mechanisms for data and algorithms used for analysis, analytical applications, and automated decision making.
Digital Transformation, Data and Analytics:
This role needs to have a broad understanding of the full range of strategic business transformation, technology evolution and innovation and data and analytics capabilities, and the ability to communicate these concepts, methods and techniques in ways easily understood by other stakeholders:
- Digital Transformation: Clear understanding of all business areas and technology innovation with special focus on commercial areas. Good understanding of technologies like Salesforce, SAP, Microsoft Azure, etc.
- Business Domain Expertise: Clear understanding of all key business processes ranging from Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, Logistics, etc.
- Data and analytics strategy expertise: Acumen for strategic business and technology planning and execution, including policy development and maintenance.
- Data literacy: the ability to describe business use cases/outcomes, data sources and management concepts, and analytical approaches/options. The ability to translate among the languages used by executive, business, IT and quant stakeholders.
- Analytics and business intelligence: diagnostic, descriptive, predictive and prescriptive analytics approaches.
- Information/data architectures: Key understanding of different technology architectures and regulatory requirements that govern those architectures. Identify and manage the most important business information assets across the organization.
Management and Operations:
- Develop, manage, allocate and govern the annual budget.
- Working closely with head of data management and analytics, constantly improve the organization’s capacity to architect the data management model and develop insights with advanced analytics.
- Oversee development, publishing and maintenance of the organization’s technology architecture and platforms, as well as a roadmap for its future development, ensuring that it matches and supports business needs.

- Demonstrated leadership: Proven track record of leading complex, multidisciplinary talent teams in new endeavors and delivering solutions. Ability to balance team and individual responsibilities, build teams and consensus, get things done through others not directly under their supervision, and work ethically and with integrity.

- Communication and storytelling: Creating consistent value-oriented storylines for better understanding and execution of the Strategy. Ability to effectively drive business, culture and technology change in a dynamic and complex operating environment (e.g., conveying information to diverse audiences in a way that is easily understood and actionable). Comfort with public speaking and the ability to creatively and concisely express ideas to business and technical audiences.
- Influencing and emotional intelligence: by asserting ideas and persuading others to gain support across an organization or to adopt new behaviors. Ability to explain digital concepts and technologies to business leaders, and business concepts to technologists.
- Creative and critical thinking, and outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities: Familiarity with business information generation and analysis methods (for example, framing new concepts that spur use case ideation for business participants and brainstorming with business users about future product and services).
- Collaboration: For example, fostering group problem solving and solution creation with business and technical team members.
- Relationship management: For example, creating relationships and building trust with internal and external stakeholders quickly.
- Talent Development: Build and develop talent that is aligned with organizations mission, values and pillars.
Skills and Experience:
- Minimum 10 years of progressive IT experience.
- Demonstrated experience and success in senior leadership roles in technology management and strong executive presence with an ability to interface with all members of the executive management team.
- Degree in a related field, or equivalent work- or education-related experience.
- Experience successfully executing programs and building partnerships that meet the objectives of excellence in a dynamic business environment.
- Knowledge and understanding of relevant legal and regulatory requirements, such as: Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), FDA and EMEA regulations, etc.
- Knowledge and understanding of cloud technologies like Azure, CRM technologies like Salesforce, ERP technologies like SAP are preferred.
- Up-to-date knowledge of methodologies and trends in both business and IT.
- Ability to travel (Domestic/Global) 30-40% and work in a 24/7 environment across multiple time zones.
- Understands a wide range of technologies, including CRM, ERP, business intelligence, cloud computing, etc.
- Strong business orientation with broad experience in this or relevant industries.
- Strong problem solving and decision-making skills with excellent written and verbal communications skills. Superb leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to function in a collaborative way and build trust.
- A superior customer orientation, including an understanding of the advantages of partnering and alliance building (internal and external to the enterprise).
- Possess the highest personal and professional standards and integrity.
