AECOM Buildings + Places is seeking a motivated, technically skilled and creative Senior Structural Engineer based in Denver, CO; Colorado Springs, CO; Dallas, TX; Houston, TX; Austin, TX; Murray, UT; or Portland, OR. The ideal candidate will have a passion for leading technically proficient teams, designing custom solutions, mentoring mid-level and junior staff, and developing calculations, drawings, reports, and specifications for the structural design work on exciting and complex projects.

Job Summary/Responsibilities
The Senior Structural Engineer should be capable of leading teams to complete both small and large projects. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with internal and external clients are required. The candidate must be well organized, able to work independently or as part of a collaborative team, and quickly recognize issues and be part of the solution.
As Senior Structural Engineer, you will be expected to:
- Be self-motivated with a strong work ethic and take pride in your work.
- Complete structural designs for multiple types of projects varying in size and delivery method.
- Make major design recommendations and design decisions in a collaborative multidisciplinary team environment.
- Plan design work and time schedules to assign design duties to junior staff working on projects.
- Proactively coordinate design and schedule with other disciplines such as architectural, mechanical, electrical, geotechnical, and technology.
- Maintain accurate, clear, and concise project documentation and design data.
- Act as an adviser and review work prepared by junior project team members.
- Meet with clients, prepare proposals and presentations while maintaining good client relations.
- Assist in project checking for quality control on other projects.
- Have thorough knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of technical plans and drawings.
- Use 3D structural analysis software to evaluate buildings for gravity and lateral loads.
- Represent the organization and maintain liaison with individuals and related organizations.
