The Role
The Senior Manager of Implementation will direct, plan, and manage all facets of capacity resolution and customer solution engineering for all customer order activity within a defined region of North America. Responsible for multiple Tier 1 markets, as well as Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, this is a dynamic team focused on delivering to customer expectation and ensuring quality planning for seamless delivery.

The Main Responsibilities
- Direct and lead a team of individual contributors who manage the design, development, and implementation of advanced transport engineering projects and initiatives, including both electronics and outside plant requirements.
- Build a high-performance team; hire and retain the right talent in the right roles; set goals, delegate work, hold reports accountable; develop and empower direct reports to make decisions and act.
- Ensure the team addresses and determines the most appropriate solution to network capacity constraints for both internal and external customer orders.
- Manage and assure adherence to budgets, project schedules, work plans, and performance requirements.
- Establish, implement, and maintain administrative and technical procedures to ensure projects are completed in an efficient and cost-effective manner within allocated budget and accounting guidelines.
- Exercise financial controls within company financial systems, including review/approval of projects, purchase requisitions, and oversight of approved contractors.
- Involved in developing and improving Lumen policies in design, planning, and development of new advanced data, cloud, and voice technologies.
- Effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
- Facilitate, delegate, and lead cross-functional teams to drive transformational change across multiple disciplines and functional organizations to improve processes, workflows, and streamline functions.
- Motivate and cultivate employee development through empowerment, driving a “culture of learning,” and actively engaging in employee development opportunities.
Essential Job Functions:
- Oversee and coordinate technical meetings and design processes to ensure efficient operations and timely delivery of quality service.
- Offer the team guidance and strategic direction on creating designs and plans aimed at assessing and deploying new services, technologies, and products while adhering to established standards.
- Help enhance better KPI/OKR measurement tools centered on the overall health of customer orders.
- Ensure that the customer designs adhere to Lumen guidelines, satisfy the customer's order specifications, and remain compliant with SOX regulations.
- Keep up with industry trends and technological advancements.
- Oversee and evaluate staff by assessing performance, providing training, managing salaries, and conveying department goals.
- Work with regional and national organizations to support operations and meet set goals.
- Manage strict adherence to Capital and Operating budgets.
What We Look For in a Candidate
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field, or equivalent training and experience.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in telecommunications with a focus on customer design and implementation.
- At least 3 years of leadership experience, demonstrating a successful history of implementing cultural shifts, fostering team development, and establishing high benchmarks for achievement.
- Understanding of Metro Transport network, including SONET, DWDM, ROADM, and Ethernet Technologies and functionality.
- Perform analysis and comparisons of technical information and the ability to prepare written and oral reports to communicate findings.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Self-motivated, quick learner, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Understanding of GIS and network planning tools.
Compensation
The starting salary for this role differs based on the employee's primary work location. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual's qualifications.

- $111480 - $148630 in AR, ID, KY, LA, ME, MS, NE, SC, and SD.
- $117340 - $156450 in AZ, AL, FL, GA, IN, IA, KS, MO, MT, NM, ND, OH, OK, PA, TN, UT, VT, WV, WI, and WY.
- $123210 - $164280 in CO, HI, MI, MN, NV, NH, NC, OR, and RI.
- $129080 - $172100 in AK, CA, CT, DE, DC, IL, MD, MA, NJ, NY, TX, VA, and WA.
As with the pay range variety that's based on the region of a country, specific offers are determined by various factors such as experience, education, skills, certifications, and other business needs.

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
This position is eligible for either short-term incentives or sales compensation. Director and VP positions also are eligible for long-term incentive.
