About the Role:
As Sales Finance Director, you will be responsible for the Cookies business within Ferrero USA. You will work closely with the Sales, Trade Marketing, and Revenue Growth Management teams to achieve company goals, with a focus on trade spending and customer profitability. You will lead budget and forecast planning and the monthly close process with the rest of the finance team. You will partner with cross-functional teams and provide guidance and recommendations on trade spend optimization, promo efficiency, and pricing strategies.
Main Responsibilities:
- Control and analyze trade spending, customer profitability, and the feasibility of trade program proposals, providing insights and concise reporting to senior management.
- Lead budget and forecast planning process for trade spending.
- Provide the latest estimate and ad hoc projections of trade spending.
- Revise and approve promotion funds to ensure consistency with budgets and plans.
- Lead the monthly close process on trade promotion, ensuring timely and accurate completion of all tasks, with attention to reporting. Ensure the accuracy and integrity of accounting records/financial systems, collaborating with the broader finance team.
- Provide financial guidance and support to the commercial team in making business decisions, optimizing trade spend, promotional effectiveness, and pricing strategies; collaborate with cross-functional teams in executing corporate projects.
- Support the organization on new initiatives, building analytical models for evaluating the financial impact of new product route to market (channel distribution, slotting/racking, and promotion activities).
- Drive harmonization of integrated businesses, including systems, accounting practices, customer treatment, and trade spend parameters.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, including supporting the development and implementation of new financial tools and systems.
Who We Are Looking For:
- 8+ years of relevant experience in sales finance in CPG (preferred).
- Advanced proficiency using financial software (SAP/other major ERP), reporting tools (TPM, HFM, Essbase), and BI Tools (Power BI, BW); proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; experience working with data across multiple systems.
- Knowledge of financial and management accounting and experience in P&L management.
- Knowledge of key retail customers, trade promotion strategies, and practices.
- Cross-functional experience and comfort level in presenting insights to all levels of a matrixed organization.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, presentation, and relationship-building capabilities.
